Around 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating wind gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts verified that different parts across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Utility workers were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to handle the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 residents in Victoria also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Rescue organizations responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand energy customers in the state were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity expected across multiple regions of both regions.
Safety Concern
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
